Molly Mink's Biography

Meet Molly Mink!
Alliteration; I had to exploit it. 👌

Molly’s an American sea mink who lives on the mainland near the docks with her family where King Dice’s father works. Her father ( Martin ) makes mink oil and she sells it to the locals around the docks who need it to waterproof their wares. One day, Molly came across Kacey ( King Dice’s older brother ) who works the docks with his father ( Daniel ) and is a bootblack in his spare time. Due to the nature of her selling mink oil and Kacey shinning shoes, they became an inseparable pair. Despite the mutual financial favor, Molly’s father disliked her association with Kacey. This was on account of his species having a negative reputation of being “weasely”. He feared her association with a people considered “frivolous and high stakes” would further damage them. In an attempt to save face, he demanded their relationship be “transactional only”.  This demand however was often ignored as the two quickly realized they had a connection beyond their business benefits. It was not uncommon for the two to sneak away and play together, although her brother ( Michael ) often kept an eye on her, keeping her relationship with Kacey a secret.  Molly was shaken by the murder of Kacey and her father allowed her no room to breathe. She would eventually marry Orville Otter, the son of Omar Otter, and inherit the family’s profitable careening business. Molly and Orville would have three children. Two were otters and one was a mostly white piebald mink with distinct spots. Out of kindness, Orville allowed Molly to name him “Kacey” out of respect for her friend and first love. Molly’s favorite color was yellow and she had an affinity for pansies. She also has ADHD. For those curious, Harley’s a hare and Kacey’s friend. More can be read about Kacey and King Dice’s friends here. Molly’s Family: Maude ( Mother ) Martin ( Father ) Michael ( Brother - 16 ) Minnie ( Sister - 4 ) Myrtle ( Sister - 9 ) Molly / Orville: Kacey Otter ( son - mink ) Ozzie Otter ( son - otter ) Olive Otter ( daughter - otter )

King Dice's Childhood Friends & Associates

Likely won’t do model sheets of these characters anytime soon ‘cause Cuphead and Mugman are after Molly, but I wanna’ do King Dice’s childhood friends on the mainland.

Since I’m black and KD’s coded black ( in my interpretation ), his friends are coded similarly.

This is broken down based on families. Molly's the only one in her family that's friends with King Dice or Kacey. Her brother's neutral.

A Beautiful Night

This was a vent piece I started around a month ago when I was going through some rather tumultuous times.

While my struggles were in no way equitable to Daniel's in this scenario, elements of them were parallel. Thus it was soothing for me to explore those themes in this piece.

For context: this piece takes place shortly after Daniel's wife ( Dahlia ) files for divorce. While divorce wasn't commonplace and was hard for women to procure, Daniel admitted to a one-off affair. This gave Dahlia the means to file, gain custody of their son, and return to the mainland.

Although initially combative and desperate to maintain his marriage, Daniel inevitably gave in. Despite his love never wavering, Dahlia's was spent. There was nothing more he could do beyond accepting what was best for her and his son.

More about Daniel can be learned about here.

I designed the logos myself.

"Maple Kettle Coffee" is what it says on the tin - er, bag. The headcanon behind it is that Elder Kettle's Maple Kettle's great-great-grandson. Also, everyone in his family's named after some sort of plant.

The concrete logo is named after Joseph Aspdin and John Smeaton respectively. The year 1824 is based on Aspiden's patent for "Portland cement". Roman architecture was chosen for the logo's illustration as it was the Romans who originally invented it.

Foolish Pleasure

Vent piece I did concerning a dynamic I think would be probable in a more adult scenario between these characters.

The Devil's relationship with King Dice is at "best" exploitative, coercive, grooming, and gaslighting. At worst it's - this.

Considering King Dice sold his soul to The Devil there's no leeway for him and - it's The Devil. He can do what he wants. Especially towards a man whose self-esteem is already shit and who grows attached to anyone who shows him a modicum of what he perceives as tenderness.

Some of King Dice's bruises are older ( his left eye ) while others are fresher. Their placement showcases King Dice tried to defend himself.

The Devil doesn't beat King Dice himself when enraged. That's a job far below him. His demonic minions gleefully do the dirty work. When it comes to sex The Devil prefers to humiliate King Dice and will often have his imps watch.
